Sleep apnea and health insurance
You may suffer from sleep apnea and have taken the next step to seek professional assistance. As with any procedure, making sure you have insurance coverage is important. If your doctor has recommended that you participate in a sleep study, insurance companies may cover all or most of that cost. Each insurance company has different policies and coverage, so before you start anything it is always beneficial to follow up with your insurance company to understand your coverage.
Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) Mask:
If you decided to try a CPAP mask before any surgery or treatment and have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, most insurance companies cover the CPAP mask and machine use for a period of time. It is important to follow up and understand your coverage because this varies depending on the insurance company.
NighLase laser treatment:
For those patients that struggle with wearing a CPAP mask or refuse to wear one during the time required, laser treatment may be the best option for you. Our NightLase laser treatment provides quick and effective relief from sleep apnea and snoring. Usually this treatment is a self-pay treatment but is affordable. We do recommend you check with your insurance companies to discuss this treatment and your coverage. Ins some cases snoring surgery could be eligible for a rebate up to $200 per treatment. It is however important to check with your health fund prior to commencing treatment, as to the health fund rebate you may be entitled to.
